Unsolicited statement of a senior network engineer:
“On 13th September last year I had a consultation with Sue (Clarke) from regarding a previous back injury. She was very perceptive and instantly picked up the fact that I was under some pressure and working very long hours.
Unfortunately, she was 100% correct and I subsequently suffered a heart attack on October 23rd. This has been attributed primarily to stress and over-working. Whilst in hospital Sue kept in touch with my wife, monitoring progress and offering her support. Since my release from hospital Sue has been extremely supportive and very, very helpful in managing my return to work. She has liased with my doctor and my manager to ensure that my return to work is without incident and is a gradual process, protecting me from ending up in the same predicament I was in prior to my heart attack.
I am very keen to ensure that Sue’s excellent work and her kind and caring approach does not go unnoticed as she has been a great help to both me and my family over the past few months. I would therefore ask that you (HR) pass on my comments to the necessary parties” |
