offers a health-surveillance procedure to assess an employee’s fitness to work as a food handler. Assessments should be carried out before employment and on an annual basis. Additional reviews may be necessary after certain types of illness, and following visits to certain countries.
These health assessments will identify those employees who may have health and / or hygiene problems needing further advice or treatment. Those individuals who may have specific learning difficulties, e.g. dyslexia, will also be identified. Adjustments can be in made accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
