My Philosophy
Health assessment takes place at the pre-employment stage (Health questionnaire), after which the Manager will be advised, by , on the employee’s fitness to work and about any adjustments that need to be made to the working environment or the employee’s work practice (DDA 1995).
The health of the employee is paramount to the health of the business. He/She is assessed on return to work following accident, surgery or prolonged illness, and I can be involved in preparing a return to work plan. provides support to employees with long term sickness absence, and I will visit at home if that is required.
Occupational Health advice may be sought as a self-referral from the employee or a referral from the employee’s Manager or Human Resources Advisor. Although medical confidentiality will be maintained at all times, the employee is encouraged to share any concerns that he/she may have with their Manager. Appropriate adjustments and advice can then be given to support the employee and to maintain them in the workplace.
